Cleaning a commercial oven and cooking equipment

Description

Commercial oven and cooking-equipment cleaning strips carbon and grease from ovens, ranges, grills, griddles and combi ovens in UK kitchens. Book it when doors no longer close cleanly, food tastes of old fat, or an inspector has marked the cookline. It is a degrease, not an engineer’s repair. Send the make and fuel type on the quote form or WhatsApp.

Carbon on the oven floor, black doors, smoke at heat-up, and grease pooled under a range are the usual reasons to book. A cloth and a spray will shine the handle and leave the carbon.

Who it is for

Kitchens that book this visit

Busy cooklines

Restaurants and pubs where the oven stays hot from prep until the last sitting.

Bakeries and combis

Combination ovens and deck ovens that carbon on the cavity even when the door looks wiped.

School and hospital kitchens

Several ovens on one line, cleaned in a holiday or a night so service is not lost.

Included

Included, and what this visit is not

Included

  • Degrease of cavities, doors and racks we can remove
  • External panels and the gap under the unit where grease collects
  • Rinse so chemical is not left on a food surface
  • A note if a part will not release without damage

Not included

  • No gas fitting, element changes or control repairs
  • We will not grind metal away to fake a new oven
  • Fryers are a separate visit
  • Glass that is already cracked is reported, not replaced

How it works

How the work is done

Isolate the area, lift the soil, rinse food-contact surfaces, then write down what was reached.

Isolate and look1

Isolate and look

Gas and power go off where we ask. We look at carbon, grease thickness and anything that cannot be reached, and we agree that list before chemical goes on.

Degrease and rinse2

Degrease and rinse

Grease and carbon are lifted, worked, and rinsed off the food-contact surfaces on the quote. Water does not run while food is still on the same bench.

Record and dry3

Record and dry

We write what was cleaned and what is left for an engineer. The kitchen plates again only when those surfaces are dry.

After the visit

How long it holds

The next visit

A properly stripped oven stays usable far longer than one that is only wiped. High-heat grilling carbons again fastest. The return is based on that, not on a monthly upsell.

What your team still does

Caustic oven gels used by untrained staff damage aluminium, seals and nearby food surfaces. Daily wiping is the staff job. Stripping a commercial cavity is the contractor job.

The wrong job

If the oven will not heat, hold temperature, or the gas smells, stop and call an engineer. Cleaning will not fix a failed element, a thermostat or a gas fault.

What the price is based on

The quote

The price follows each appliance and how heavy the carbon is. A single combi is not priced like a six-burner range with a chargrill beside it. Night or weekend work costs more.

Before we arrive

Appliances must be off and cooled. Remove pans and probes. Tell us if a combi is still under a service contract that limits chemicals.

Before you plate again

Run a heat cycle empty if we ask, so any remaining moisture leaves before food. Staff should still wipe spills each service. Carbon that is baked on for months will return if spills are left to burn.

FAQ

Questions on this visit

Straight answers for this service.

Can you clean a combination oven?

Yes. The cavity, racks and door are degreased and rinsed. If the combi’s own wash cycle has failed, that fault is an engineer’s job and we will say so.

Do you clean behind and under the range?

Yes where the unit can be reached safely. Built-in ovens that cannot be moved are cleaned as far as the opening allows, and the limit is written down.

Will cleaning remove every black mark?

Grease and loose carbon come off. Metal that has been etched or discoloured by years of heat may still look used. We do not grind the surface to pretend it is new.

Is oven cleaning the same as a deep clean?

No. Oven cleaning is the appliances. A full deep clean also covers surfaces, floors and the rest of the food room. Many sites book both on one night.

How should we ask for a quote?

List each appliance, gas or electric, and when it can be cold. Photos help. Use the quote form or WhatsApp.
